Soul Train Weekender at Dance Club & School, Prague, Czech Republic

By Mark Devlin | 29 October 2015

If consistency is the qualifying factor, Prague's Soul Train Weekender can certainly lay rightful claim to being Europe's leading black-music club night. The event has almost eighteen years of weekly parties under its belt, and now, to keep things fresh and inspiring, has just moved from its long-standing home of Radost FX to a new venue - the city's Dance Club & School.

Soul Train was the creation of DJ and MC Rico in 1998, who remains its main frontman. The other key members of the crew are DJs Big J and 12 Play. Between them, they drop a fast-moving selection of R&B, hip-hop, reggae dancehall, old school revivals and all points in between, ensuring the club stays rocking all night. Soul Train has always been about classy clubbing, too, with VIP tables and bottle service available for those wanting a special occasion, or a straight dancefloor workout for those just wanting to cut some shapes.

There are frequent guests in the house, including the UK's MP Marcus and France's Marco De La Vega, while the relaunch at DCS kicks off on Saturday 7th November with the UK's DJ Kaz-D, and a live performance from Hi-Def out of the US.
