Teddy Touch aims high, and it's a tribute to his DJing name being inspired by the legendary New York turntablist Tony Touch that he's risen to the of of his game in his native Norway.
Hailing from the Western city of Bergen, the young Thomas Knudsen started DJing in 1994, but cites his production of rudimentary pause-button mixtapes as early as '91 as the beginnings of his interest in sound. As he steadily built up his cutting, scratching and party-rocking skills, Teddy went on to play parties all over Norway and beyond. Highlights have included the likes of the YO! MTV Raps Anniversary and Battle of the Year events, as well as providing support at live shows from Nas, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Redman, Clipse, Common, Ghostface and many more. It's paid off, too; in 2004 he won the Best Club DJ accolade at the Norwegian Hip Hop Awards.
Adding production as another string to his bow, Teddy forms one half of the Souldrop production duo alongside Even Brenna, creating hip-hop, soul and funk tracks on their own, as well as remixing for other artists.
Visitors to Bergen can currently catch Teddy throwing down every Friday for Soul City at Cafe Opera.
