dj_wayne_mcdonaldA scroll through the biog of Preston-born, Newcastle-based Wayne C McDonald suggests it might be easier to list the things he hasn't achieved during his prolific and highly-respected career. To mention the whole lot might keep you on this page until Christmas. So we'll stick with a few highlights.


Wayne's long been recognised as one of the UK's leading R&B tastemakers, and one of the most high-profile figures outside of London. Much of this status has come from his keenly-received radio shows, formerly for Galaxy Radio and Metro FM, and now for NE1 FM in Newcastle. As well as causing fellow DJs to reach for their search engines weekly to discover why he's just played 20 tracks they themselves don't yet have, he's interviewed a whole world of guests, from the UK's Jay Sean, Martine Girault and Natalie Williams, to global superstars like Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Akon. The weekly joke mailouts with the playlists have become the stuff of industry legend too. Club-wise, Wayne has provided support at countless live concerts, and all the big urban club gigs in Newcastle and beyond, as well as featuring on the Southport Weekender.

But it's as one half of the production duo DC Joseph that he's possibly gained the most impact. The duo act as a two-man music factory, putting out productions and remixes for both upcoming and world-famous R&B and soul acts almost daily. This list really would take forever.
