B.o.B

Venue: King College

Date: 27 May 2010

Who knew back in April when I caught up with B.o.B for Black Sheep ahead of supporting Lupe Fiasco on tour, what the proceeding months would have in store.

Considering his debut album, B.o.B presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray was officially released in the UK on Monday, in the words of the man himself its "crazy" how the six hundred plus fans at Kings College Tutu's night club last week during his first ever UK show knew every song verbatim.

His debut single 'Nothin' on You' featuring Bruno Mars went double platinum in the US and went straight in at the number one spot on Ronnie Herel's BBC 1Xtra top 40 chart. The anthems of the night without a doubt were 'Don't let fall', 'I'll be in the Sky', platinum selling 'Airplanes' (featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore) and of course 'Nothin' on you'. Even with the tempo completely switching with Southern Crunk style track 'Bet I' (featuring T.I and Playboy Tre) the crowd continued to hang on his every verse.

In spite of this being his debut, he displayed the crowd interaction skills of a seasoned musician, with those at the front and centre receiving a real treat when he jumped off the stage to the lower barrier and partied with his adoring fans.

So how was the experience for the main man B.o.B, "The energy was amazing - although there was how many people? Two hundred and fifty, three hundred people, they had the energy of three hundred thousand people. The love and the energy in the room were just insurmountable - it will be a memory that I will remember for the rest of my life".

He certainly had all the beautiful girls in attendance dodging security to get back stage. Those who succeeded in their efforts lined the corridor to his dressing room and even the back alley of the building in the hope of a glimpse or a snap with the super star.
