Beats, Rhymes and Phife

By Christopher Mitchell | 25 March 2010
As one third of the revered alternative Hip Hop group A Tribe Called Quest, Phife Dawg is a legendary figure in the game. Despite his relatively small five foot plus frame, his stature as a Hip Hop pioneer towers well above many of those who may be in a higher tax bracket.

Following the dissolution of A Tribe Called Quest in 1998, Phife ventured down the road of being a solo artist and proved that his wit, insight and knack for simple yet deep lyricism has not lose a step. However, as fate would have it, there were a few challenges that he would have to encounter to make it to the here and now. Preparing to release his second solo album, Songs In The Key Of Phife, Diggy Dawg made a stop in London during his European Tour, along with Chip-Fu, to fill us in on his life, music and most importantly, his future.
